Imagine a cross between "Blind Date," MTV's "Becoming" and "JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment," and you have some idea of a special The WB is developing.

The hourlong show, which could serve as a series pilot, is called "The Celebrity Look-Alike Dating Show." Men and women who think they look like famous people will be made over to resemble them more closely, coached on their doppelgangers' mannerisms and sent on a date where they'll try to pass as the real deal.

"It's really a combination of a hidden-camera and studio show, dealing with everyone's fascination with celebrity," Ben Silverman, whose company Reveille is producing the show, tells The Hollywood Reporter. "We think this show is perfect for [The WB] because their audience is so fascinated with celebrity and so pop culture-literate."

The special will feature two 30-minute segments, each based on a pair of celebs -- real-life current and former couples or stars who've worked together. Would-be look-alikes will be cut to a handful of finalists, who will study his or her celebrity's appearance, career and personal history.

The top male and female will then be paired for a blind date, where they'll try to convince people they really are the famous folks they're made up to be. "In a perfect world, we could get our couple into an award show posing as the persons," says Keith Cox, The WB's head of alternative programming.

Each person will have to do several things -- like sign an autograph or pose for a photo -- during the course of the date, with points tallied for each task leading to prizes. The couple can choose between a joint gift if they want to see each other again, or separate ones if they don't.
